Please join me for a Community Town Hall on September 26, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Malaga Cove Library. If you prefer to watch via Zoom, please register in advance. It will be difficult for me to field questions from Zoom participants so if you don’t plan to attend in person, please submit your questions in advance here.
My proposed agenda, which is subject to change, is as follows:
Broad overview of the state of public education and a frank discussion about why things are the way they are, and what we can and cannot do about it.
Legislative and litigation update on important issues impacting our district, including AB 1955, Title IX, statewide school facilities bond, and LCFF funding.
Local concerns including the school bond measure, the yearbook, high density housing and school sites, college acceptance, among other issues.
I will give three minutes each to a representative from the pro-bond and anti-bond sides to share their perspectives.
